Flem,

Just got back from PD myself after 9 days or so up there. We had 5 or 6 good sessions on the South End of Four Mile Beach. Check out kitebeaches.com for location.

The wind is very localised around this area - Yorkeys would have fine weather and strong winds when PD was overcast and light. We went out on the reef snorkelling with the dive boats a couple of times and it was howling at Low Isles when it was almost non-existent in town - you can see Low Isles from Four Mile Beach.

Also - one more thing to remember, a FNQ 30 knots is not like a Melbourne 30 knots. Something to do with air density. I reckon knock 5 knots off of FNQ wind strength to equate it to Melb i.e. 25 knots FNQ = 20 knots Melb.

Mate reckons he almost ran over a croc in the water off of four mile when we were there - also a few postings about them being active around Yorkeys.

Just more motivation to land the tricks and stay on the board

Tom
