KAOS,
Sorry to rain on your parade, but I've build a number of boards, epoxy vac bag etc. Average build time from start to finish was 15 hours over a week per board. I have spent many hours with a really good surf board shaper learning a few things and finding out about the wider surf industry.
Problem is it's a labour of love, you can have the best boards, but with out the name, funds and marketing you will never make it.
Trust me on this one, I have done this before in other industries.
I'm an accountant and business manager in a former life and looked at this very closely few years ago. Basically you would have to supply 5% of the world market to make any money and keep the dream alive.
Many have tried and may have failed. Keep in mind to get mass exposure you need retailers and retailers need mark up. So say your board sells in the store for $800 the retailer will want to make 30%-50%. So you need to get it delivered to them for say $400-$500, when you attach all the other costs such as warranty allowance (don't ever think of using the line, my baords never break) etc you are soon down to a production base cost of $300. So say you have a magical process that turns em out with graphics etc for $250 so you make $50 per board.
How many boards are sold in a week in WA, my guess 10 new ones if you are lucky accross all stores. Season in WA runs for say 30 weeks so you could sell 300 boards at $50 profit $15,000. Not worth the effort.

But as a side line when you earn money doing some thing else, well that can work.
Check out delta and how they are doing, good guide.
I don't think he gets all his money from kiteboards.
