hi, have been using a cabrinha switchblade 2 for about 4 months now, before i used the kite i pre streched my bar lines as per usaul. today i decided to check the lines again and found that the back lines were the same lenght and also the front lines were the same lenght, however the front lines were longer than the back by about 2 inches. my question is are they supposed to be slightly longer or should all four lines be the same length???

I also have a SB2 I have no idea what length they are supposed to be coffebean.
But could you tell me about pre stretching lines.
As I have never done this and when I recently put new lines on the kite flew like a dog. Is this because they have not bee stretched ?
Ps : The bar and lines Im talking about have only been used trice now I can measure the lines tonight and try to answer your question tomorrow

Attatch lines to a fixed point; pull the bar fully in & all lines should be same length. Contact your retailer if they aren't; or self fix is change flying & steering lines round (you will need to make up some pigtails) to even the stretch or just use knot furtherest away from kite on rear (steering) lines untill they stretch. Bottom line is if the kite still flies & turns well as is, don't worry about it

that is generally in 5m lengths.

with the front lines 2inch's longer, it means the back line will be pulling a lil too tight and tend to flare the kite, mabey even fly backwards in light winds

Hi coffeebean - I have had a few different kites in my time all of them had different line setups in terms of lengths - they don't neccessarily have to have the front and back lines the same length which is why when you replace the lines you should get OEM lines and not generic ones. It all depends on the bridle and bar setup of the kite as to how long they make the lines meaning that the front and back lines won't have to be the same length. I can't imagine that lines would stretch by 2 inches in 4 months.

Also, for the general forum, I've never heard of anyone up here stretching their lines when buying a new kite - I never have and have never had any problems - I've owned Cabrinha's and Slingshot.
