fair bit, but i would use the 7m bar on 11m kite anyway.... Might even be the same size stock.

Unless you want your kite to turn stupidly fast, it will probably help you to improve by using the 7m bar on the 11m anyway.

Bars for the same model kite are going to have the same line lengths.....
p.s. Hes talking about using a smaller bar on a bigger kite. Which will make it turn slower.

ye, when i had switchblades, i used the 6m bar on the 10m aswell. i really liked it as it wld still turn fast enough, but when unhooking it wld stay very still. that bar was only 40cm

Agree with rowdy, go small and you wont want to go back...Most kites come stock with bars which are way to big and goofy.

Always used to use my 13m C kites bar on my 9m - but did have to choose the slower turning setting (some may not have) and found it sweet for me. Got totally spanking trying a backroll before I made the change though.

well i have always enjoyed the smaller bar, but my wife said from previous experience that she likes to use a way longer than usual bar to get her through those average days. Women?

I use a large bar on a small kite and it does make some slight difference in the way it feels but basically you can't really make the kite turn faster - all you are doing is pulling the steering line more when you move (steer) the bar. The kite performance won't change - just the feel. This also depends on how you like to kite. If you like a nice predictable slow turning kite - then a shorter bar will tend to give that feel.

As for using a small (short) bar on a larger kite, personally I don't think this is a great idea. I'd fix up the old 11 m bar. There's lots you can do to reinvigorate an old bar.
