Hi all,

I'll be in Brighton/St Kilda in July-August, and I can only take one board and one kite with me.

I currently own two kites (20 gaastra stealth and 14 jochum&nesler primadonna).

My question is: will the 14 be enough or should I buy one of these second-generation kites instead? (I'm considering buying a 13sqm waroo or bularoo model by Best).

I'll also spend a couple of weeks in Broome, does anyone have an idea what the wind stats are like in that area in August?

cheers

July August is mostly Northerlies in winter so Brighton is probably better. A 13 should do.

Hey effisk,

Yeah you generally see 12's out. So if you were going to go with a 2nd gen, then a 13 should see you out most of the time...
Just got a 14m and I know that will keep me on the water for most of the colder season! -I'll be mostly on the othef side of the bay tho.

Later.

Winter is gusty and cold, get a kite with a big range, most of the local crew dont bother kiting in these months, they either head north for a kite holiday or go surfing or snow boarding. Over the past 4 years maybe I have kited 5 times in these months in Vic.

thanks for your answers.

I just spent a winter in France with a 3/2 wetsuit so the cold months in Melbourne won't really be a problem

I'll see if I can afford a new kite with a better range.

thanks again!

Beware The Westerly... he's nasty and has a mind to hurt you, when he visits the bay.
