On Vic web site go to locations - check Altona
http://www.kbv.org.au/?go=location

Also use:
Tide is critical - low tide too shallow use..
www.bom.gov.au/oceanography/tides/MAPS/melbourne.shtml#map
choose Williamstown - close enough

and JIC
www.earthsci.unimelb.edu.au/~awatkins/bay.orig.html for wind

JIC 2:
kitefilm.com/eng/weeklytrick.asp
Have fun - There are mussels / shells in the mud in places can cut feet.
The local crew were great.

st kilda is imo not good for beginners as it is way too busy. mate send me a message with ur details and ill give ya a hand, brighton can be fine if you do the right thing, not flat like altona unfortunatly but can be a great place to kite on this side of town with out the crowds.

MMMM I'm about a month and a half late but I live in this area to and also a beginner. Have gone to brighton a few times but tend to go with my mates who are more advanced to st kilda cause they give the odd tip etc.
Would love to meet another beginner in the area so when I only have little time or can't be bothered driving to where the other people are, I can ride with someone.
PM me if you ever see this post. Oh apparantly Hampton is good too!!

Hello all

I just started in melbourne with some lessons on st kilda. I had some lessons in Spain many years ago. I was hoping if there are any beginners here who would like to help eachother out on the beach.

Give me a PM with your details to hook up some day.

greetings from a Dutchie (not a flying dutchie yet)
