There is also another brand called NSI (north shore industires). They work out to be about $170 for the deck pads and removable straps. We have only just started stocking so only going on hear say, but from what we have heard they work well.

Good to remember though that surf boards arn't meant to take heaps of impact, so big jumps may result in broken boards (the decks arn't reinforced enough).

Directional Kiteboards are available made out of epoxy and very touch. They have been really riggid in the past but 08 looks like having a few new options to overcome that. email us direct for further info.

If you're a tightarse like me just buy some footstrap inserts ($5 each at your local kite shop) and epoxy them in then put a layer of glass over them and finish off with some deckpad and old footstraps. Cost me $40 all up.

I've got the NSI ones. Brilliant. The bonus being you can take the straps off easily and you've still got the pads on the board.

Surftech pads are excellent, easy on, strapped or not, work really well. Little pricey at $229 retail, but you get what you pay for.

If want to be even more of a tightass and save the five dollars on the footplug inserts, the buy some wall mats from Bunnings. Drill a hole into your board, plug the mats in, glass over the top so they don't pop out. You can then screw in and out the straps as you please depending on whether you want to surf or kite :)
