I bought a 160cm (cabrinha spoiler) kiteboard last year when I was starting out with the sport as that was what was recommended by my instructor (actually was recommended a 165cm board), I ride bow kites and when I seem to be powered up such as I was today (16 meter bow in 14 knots with 18 knot gusts rigged with knot closest to the kite) I am finding it really hard to edge upwind and I notice trying to do carve turns I only get around half way then loose power from the kite and cant quite get around onto my toe side , would this be because the boards too big for the wind condition or that’s not a big factor and its more operator error? My wet weight is 72 kilos.
I have actually got an underground 06 flex 128 on deposit and if it is board size that’s hindering my ability would that probably be the right size for me to be getting to progress further?
you have a big kite and a big board, i would just go get the 128 and have fun. if you have problems doing stuff with the 128 and your 16 its your style not equipment I really want some seabreezes!
Yeh just grab the 128/132, will make it heaps easier, similar thing happened when i started with a 158 delta twin tip(fins were too far back making it hard to hold an edge in strong wind) Thanks Matt
