hello all
new to this but bug biting hard
my question is if you are suddenly caught in big gusts and way overpowered, what is the safest option in regards to the kite. try to bodydrag in???? leave at twelve o'clock and wait?????
also line length..
i have been told that if you lay out your lines with the bar pulled back (powered) and the front lines at full length (powered) then all lines should be same length.????? agreed?????????
cheers for all feed back.

Hey Dun-King,

If you are mega overpowered and are being tea bagged towards obstacles, you should either let go of the bar and deploy the safety system or just purposely crash the kite into the water and that will stop the carnage. if you are in clear water, point the kite out to sea rather than at the land, it's always safer in the water than terra firma.

As for line length, you are correct.

Good winds,

At Brighton/ Scarborough beach the other day during that stormy weather, got lifted skipping over a wave lip and started heading for well and truly up the beach, airborne at high speed... didn't panic or think twice. I pulled my quick release and landed in about 3 feet of water on the shore line. My advice is drill it into your self. The kite can be replaced or fixed. Was the closest I have come in 3 years to nearly breaking a body part. Is nice to know you can actually do what you know you should when under pressure to think and act fast.
However, if you are along way from the shoreline, other kiters and general harms way I reccomend keeping the kite high as possible and depowered. And be weary as you get close to the shore.
