Where was it?Awesome kiting spot?
How about "was anyone hurt ? "
Anyway,its all (nearly) good.
A COUPLE escaped unscathed when their gyrocopter crashed into a sandbar in north Queensland today.
Police said the pair's Gyro Magni helicopter crashed as it was coming in for a standard landing on the beach at the mouth of the Burdekin River, 12km from Home Hill, south of Townsville, about 10am (AEST).
I saw a couple of those gyrocopter things being used at Beauduc near Marseille in France. The beach is a hard pack sand and these things just came in and chose their landing spot. You have to land them like a plane, rather than vertically. I thought at the time "what a killer way to get to a really inaccessible beach!"
But, they sound like motorbikes with heli blades.
