Best bet is to be friendly with the regular crew who do downwinders every day. Ask if you might be able to grab a lift back. If you have cold beers in the car you will suceed.
Failing that go down to Brighton and ask there. That way you can drive up someone who will in turn give you a lift back.

hey man i do downwinders from city beach as i live right near the surf lifesave club... so ill be keen for a downwinder buddy, im home every 2weeks, work on the mines... so msg us on 0418492356 n ill msg ya when im next home... went out like 6 times last week and just had my room mates pickin me up from trigg..
im on a cream xbow 3 12m or green and gold xbow 3 9m

I also just did my first downwinder there with Posko down to Scarborough. I ride brown or a red fuel. I'll be around for a few months. You could call/sms me too on 0439567608,
