hi all ,

just wondering why we have an easterlie forecast for the next week?
The 4 seabreezes we had last week made me think that the freo doc was back for good..but now it's just miserable...
Is it still too wet?
I heard that la nina is going to strike for another season?any info on that?
I thought that because we had such a wet winter,it would be great for the summer seabreezes coz the land is cool and wet.
I know it's not summer yet.
I know there are some weather expert out there!!
Imagine a season with only easterlies,boring..the river would look like the freeway..
cheers

When the wind goes the other way you just need to find a place where the land is on the other side.

This is not strange for october, we are still in transition to the dry hot season. Some years the seabreeze kicks of nicely in October, some years it takes a bit longer.

Ive always seen October as a bit of a weird month in regards to weather. Even November can be a bit like this.

A good seabreeze is generated by a hot and dry land combined with a cool ocean.

Dont worry, huey will flick the switch to ON soon enough and then you'll be looking for a rest day sometime which never seems to come...

Over the last 10 years I remember that we seem to always have 2-5 teasing days in September (that seem like seabreezes) followed by a couple of down weeks, before wind gets going mid-late Oct and Nov is generally good.

last couple of years kite season in Perth seems to be all but finished early in New Year.

This year I reckon has been a slowish start but pretty good swells.

How bad does the whole of WA look this long weekend. Bloody CHOGM!!!! Although my vote for best CHOGM delegate is Goodluck Jonathon from Nigeria.

Coolest name of a Head of State ever.

Speaking of CHOGM...

I saw the Queen and her hubby go by yesterday in the royal landrover.
I left work only to find the streets being blocked by the cops, no one was allowed to cross the street as they were waiting for the queen to go by on her way to government house from the airport.
So there's a big build up of people lining the streets & I'd estimate 98% were people like me, being held up on the way home.

Then comes the police escort & the royal landrover with Prince Phillip waving at everyone with a huge stupid open mouth smile on his face, he looked like a smiling maniac; he obviously thought we were all waiting to see them, but really we were all waiting to be allowed across the street.
I think maybe only two women cheered as the monarch and co went by.

back to the seabreeze wishing...any dance moves yet?

Jeez by the look of the Exmouth graph our season has already finished.
Surely this humidity won't stick around the rest of the summer if so I am moving south

oh well, let's just hope it will be a good one!!!
for the dances,i heard that goodluck jonathon and his tribe do the belly dance naked from 2AM till dawn!!but you will also need to sacrifice one of your wives and offer it to the hungry white pointers!(if you are a polygame it shouldn't be a problem)

what I hated about kiting in the eastern states was the constant checking of the graphs. Will it be NE or NNE or S or SSW, should I drive 2hrs north or south. these little things would often be the difference between kiting or not kiting.

last summer was like that, this summer is shaping up to be the same I feel.

Last week I don't think the forecasts were for as good conditions as they turned out to be.
Despite the forecasts I think you will find we will get a few kiteable sea breezes in the next week or so, starting with today.

Disclaimer: I am a glass half full type of guy and I am on holiday as of today.

When I lived up north there was an unconfirmed rumour of a Naked Sambucca Rain Dance whenever a storm opened up. Wonder if it will work down here?

Funny you should mention that, earlier today I was checking out the graphs, I was going to head North but it's not looking to flash for next week so started thinking I might head down that way, I may just come down and say hello early next week.

graphs forecasts have been pretty bad as of late - BoM forecast has been really good.

or better yet you can always look out the window - if its hot, dry and sunny you've got a good chance of going riding. Seems to be a better forecast system than any website.

Great idea, let's consult some indians and find out how to do one.

Just out of interest, what suspension is the royal landrover running? Did she go with the 2" or 4" lift, because both have their advantages and disadvantages.
