yes I think it was called up skiing ,you got pulled up the hill by a huge parachute and over the edge at the top .Not a whole lot of control and no upwind ability

I thought it was started by 007. I recall a 70s Bond movie with james skiing down the face of the mountain with a paraglider on his back.
Pretty sure it was in 'a view to a kill'. I know I watched it recently but I then I have the whole collection so am never remembering one from the other until they are on the TV.

Correction it was The spy who loved me which was 1977 so followed by 1 year.
Pretty close call though as filming would have been in 1976.
