Hello,

I am currently in Fiji and need to get a leading edge which just popped between the valves, and also a bladder fixed.

Im on an island at the moment but will be in Nadi in 3 days, and then near Suva

Does anyone have any ideas at all as to where to get my kite fixed, otherwise I have no kiting here for the next 11 days, which i will not be happy about as the wind is cranking

Oh well,

other than that, anyone in Melbourne want to sell a $500 or less 12m which i can get a friend who is coming from Melbourne on Sunday to bring with them to Fiji

Cheers

Tim

Try Warren Frances

Hell he'll do anything as long as he can rip you off

GOOD LUCK over there.

i had a similar problem in fiji....got a hole on the leading edge on the first good day of wind and it happened to be the only day i'd left the repair kit back at the hotel which was a boat ride away.

what island are u on? if ur at nananu-i-ra the owner of morrisons lodge apparently has a heat sealer that may fix ur bladder problem(he he) if its popped at the ends as usually happens.i think he charges to use it.

dont bother asking any of the kiting instructors/schools to help....they dont even have a repair kite that u could buy(i would have paid a small fortune to buy one/or even offered to replace with a substantial kit the next day.....they are just very lazy, perhaps too cool to help! or they have business skills of neanderthals...i suspect a combo of all 3!)

the only solution is to get one from other kiters....shouldnt be too hard as who doesnt want to help out another kiter?(esp if a few fiji bitters may come their way!)

hope this helped a bit

hope u get some great kiting when its all patched up!!

Fixing bladder in Fiji?
forget about it...
unless you're a lucky guy who's there in the same time than me... which is the case.
i'm down in Sigatoka, have everything you may need to fix your bladder....if you're really desperate, we can meet and i will help you out. I've got patches, tape and glue... that should do!
besides, where are you? the wind has been blowing completely east, even off shore.I Went out every day but it was quite horrible, it's all over the place. If you're on a better location, happy to join, there is way too much coral around here any way! I found some awesome spots, but the wind's just the wrong direction (it's supposed to be south east... Supposed to...). The weather forecast looks crap untill mid next week, but as they're never reliable, I'd be happy to join you if it's good where you're at...
let me know how it's been, I might run there!!!!
You can contact me directly on my email for your bladder, happy to help if I can.

Thanks for the offer of help em,

I decided that the kite was beyond fiji repair possibilities, it really exploded !!!!!

anyway, 2nd week in Fiji was lighter winds so surfed Frigates passage etc instead which was amazing.

Had 3 excellent kites at www.fijisurf.com which was excellent in a S or SE, not East, and a lot windier than the mainland.

Also, heard that the lagoon at Waidroka on the coral coast is perfect for SE to possible E, with a deeper lagoon with less coral, so worth checking, although nothing but bad reports on the operators of this resort, so be warned.

Thumbs up for the beach house on the coral coast too, absolutely sensational in every way including the price, and OK for kiting in SE at high tide with booties on .

cheers
