this rule is a bit harsh. i dont think it should be so, what if your leash just happens to break, i think they should penalise the manufacturers

6.13 If a competitor loses his or her kite during competition for whatever reason including a faulty leash or lack thereof, that competitor will be disqualified from the event. This includes practice and testing outside of the competition area at any time during the event.

if this is indeed a rule from a competition, then that is what they are doing.

xxx rider didn't win on Sunday because his/her yyy leash broke.

Therefore yyy brand doesn't sell on Monday.

Win on Sunday, sell on Monday.

thats not what happened at the nationals. when zebb peters broke his leash he got his kite back and ended up winning the heat he didnt get disqualified

Mr Peters was either amongst friends, or no-one had read the rules, or no-one could be bothered to enforce the rules, or sportmanship was the real winner on the day.
