takoons are the best, actually i prefer slingshots then again ocean rodeos are great to learn on.

man its bad wen u make life hard for the innocent. If you know how to kite go to some of the local shops and ask to demo the kites. Find the one you like before you buy
Most kite manufacturers produce quality kites nowadays. The most popular brands at the moment in Oz, in alphabetical order would be; Airush, Best, Cabrinha, F-One, Flexifoil, Liquid Force, Naish, North, RRD, Slingshot, and ?????.
Any of these kites will be OK for you to learn the ropes as they are all good quality, just make sure you pick a beginner friendly model.
