So today i was wondering... is marketing kites to have crazy depower a good thing? 5 seconds later i decided no it is not.
why is this?
because you get 50000000000 noobs that come out of lessons or from having mates teach tehm wanting a one kite fix all and end up buying a 12m with "99% depower"..
now this bothers me because now we get all these heros coming down to the beach when everyone is on 8s 9s 7s and rig up their 12s, pull in max depower and go shooting around out of control, why this bothers me is because this happens almost every day the wind is above 18knots at pinaroo and they almost always crash into one of my students as they come rocketing to the beach or bagging around on the sand trying to turn their max depowered kite but the lines are so fkn slack that they have no steering.
i mean come on, you get to a beach and see everyone on a kite between 7 and 9m, and you only have a 12.. is there something here that is possibly going to give you a tiny bit of a hint that your kite is too big for the conditions? I saw 2 x 12m cabrinhas, 1x 12m seagull, 1x 11m f one, 1x 10m flow (the super grunty ones)... just being flat out idiots.
Also the damn north riders at pinaroo that come within 2m of you student before wanting to turn around, coming in close, trying a (super far away from landing it) back roll and generally getting in my way... i will hook knife you.
