The new IDS system requires you to put your leash on the chicken loop most people don't do this since the SB 2/3 you just put you leash above your quick release.

Cabrinha have fixed this problem and are giving out a plastic covering for the IDS line to stop wear and tear as you have experienced all ready, you can see your local shop and the will give you the plastic cover for free.

and if you are sick and tired of the line wearing and breaking put the leash on you chicken loop!

watch that it will give you the run down of the new gear.

The trouble with connecting your leash to chicken loop is if you pull QR safety to release to IDS and;
a) IDS line breaks or
b) IDS velcro release (QR2) pulls free.
the kite sails off into the distance, with your chicken loop and leash still hanging off your harness. I know from experience! Avoid using your IDS with your leash attatched here unless you're positive the IDS line & IDS safety (QR2) will hold. The line wears no matter where the safety is connected. The plastic coating should solve it.

I pose the question..." who the Fluck tests these new kites out"...they are obviously NOT kiters or just don't give a sh!t about telling the manufacturers the "truth" about the new Kit they've been given....safety systems that are not safe.

Is this not a glaring problem?

Is the problem that manufacturers are into full production BEfore the product has been fully tested or what?

Less haste should be the key.....and at least we'd have tried and true quality(useful) and usable products.....
There was nothing wrong with the last model anyway...why friggin change?

I've had my rant.....now you can slam me..

yes you can but you IDS is acting as a safety system also. i would highly advise not to remove the IDS line as it can help you get out of sticky situations. also you do not need to put your leash on the IDS velcro release (QR2) as Pearl said before. you can just stick it on the little metal hoop where the quick release clips onto,

-> this is only if you are going unhooked, you can use your leash quick release if you want to disconect you self from your kite.

it might get in the way a bit, i don't like it at all i prefer the older system.
As i said before, they have brought out a plastic cover which they are providing FREE and you are able to pick this up from your local shop

in all future sales of the new IDS kites this will be included i hope this has cleared up a few things, and now everyone can come along and say how crap Cabrinha is and how good every other brand is in comparison.
