Hi, I will be coming to Perth for a semester of school in July and I was wondering whether I should bring my kite surfing equipment with me. What will the wind conditions be like between July and November? What size kits do people usually ride on? What are the good kiting spots around Perth? I'll be going to Curtin University and I will probably want to go to the closest beach to the school.
I was also wondering about surfing ---I'm not much of a surfer, but I was thinking since I'll be in Australia I can pick it up - what would be the surfing conditions around this time of the year? Any info will be greatly appreciated!!
Cheers!

Hey Ivona, I would bring your kite gear. Even though there wont be any devent wind til later in the year. But it will be worth it. the closest beach would be leighton, but conditions arent always the best there, probably want to go to south cottelsoe. You can also kite in the river in Melville (very close to curtin) but again it can be gusty. What size kites do you have??? probly bring a 10 and 14m.

Hi Ivona,

Good surf around July. Wind anywhere from 0 to 50 knots(usually the extremes). Some good days though. Definately worth bringing kites since it gets good later in the year. Usual sea breeze is 18-23 knots!
Hope this helps
