Hey mate- what do you want to know ? My mate and I both have the 5'8...
really solid underfoot, very easy to gybe due to the drop deck, needs the factory fins for good upwind, nice amount of flex and enough rocker for medium swell, deck grip is very sticky- great board to learn strapless on...hope that helps.

Hey thanks for the reply,
I guess you have answered all the questions.
I am already riding a surfboard. I was mainly getting it for my wife (well thats what i tell her he he), who is ready to ride surf now, and i guess for me as well to have some fun on.
Looks like a great board and rather than buying a second surf i thought id get something a little different to use.
Between the twin tips and surf board I think this will be a great addition.
Looks like its a goer.
Thanks mat

I reckon they are good, I had one of the early ones a few years ago and loved it. Really good strapless starter board. I thought it was much better strapless than when it had straps on it, but that is mainly because I think i naturally put my back foot a bit further back that how it was set up.
They are pretty tough, I managed to snap the nose off mine, but almost broke my ankle in the process so wouldn't hold this as a bad thing (better the board than my ankle)
I dont think they go as well as a good surfboard strapless, but are a great travel and do everything board. I originally bought mine for international travel as a strapped and strapless option without having to take an extra board.
Better small to medium size wave board as well, i though it a bit too wide and loose for bigger stuff.
I am also 6'3'' and about 82kg and the 5'8'' went well, you would need to be a big guy to go the 6'2''.
Hope this helps.

I also thought I saw one cheaper than $1200 at Kite Addiction here in Perth the other week when i was in there but you would prob have to org freight.

If I had my time again I would go the 5'4" I reckon- mainly because it is quad rather than thruster....I can't comment on how it rides strapped cos I haven't put straps on it at all.
I prefer to ride mine as a twin fin most of the time- but I came from a skimboard that I rode finless alot.
I agree with Wal for pure wave performance I couldn't go past the surfboard (Firewire 6' Felix) that I have in my quiver but I do really enjoy the Kipuna as a kind of fun board- really good for ollies and airs etc...

Yep, good for strapless airs, it's amazing how much that pizza crust rims saves your feet from sliding off.
Maybe I should go back to one to try to learn how to do those things Rebstock and Aldredge do.....these guys are FREAKS or have some alien suction cup feet thing going on.

Good description from the folks so far, I totally agree.
I've probably spent more time on the 5'8" Kipuna than on any other board in the past year.
It's not a replacement for a nice surfboard, it doesn't have the buoyancy for less powered wave kiting.
It is really fun though especially in less than ideal surf conditions, amazingly forgiving, great for learning strapless and very durable.
