yeah i've seen a couple of times, they crack me up......like when the person has just pumped up the kite and run out the lines only to realise he left the harness at home.....makes for some great dirt kicking and words you cant put on this forum. none on the water thankfully, everyone seems pretty chilled

Hmm, seen a bit, and it seems to be on the increase:

- kiters not giving way and deliberately ramming kites into each other
- taking people's boards when they fall off and sailing them out the back. way out the back. or way downwind. or upwind for that matter...
- the old chestnut: hey lets high five while riding and then railing up to give them a nice dose of salt water spray
- shadowing people so they cant do any tricks
- keeping your kite low over someone so they cant launch

and my favourite

- hogging the flat water behind the rock groyne!

seems to me respect is on the decrease. but on the plus side, people who piss me off get on to my "never to be rescued, launched, or landed" list...

i must admit i had some serious rage today when the BOM said 15-20 kts so i took my 14m kite to get some newb board practice - however the wind continued to climb just as i finished setting up on the beach ----- and shot well out of my range.
That was an angry man on the beach - learning the pain of a one kite quiver
but on the up side i think im going to spend some hard earned cash on the weekend to get a 10m so i never again need to feel this pain. Watching others kite is disgusting

Nearly lost it one day, some ** h@#d dropped his kite staight down, downwind & sconned me on the head while putting my board on to tack out, upon launch he was 100-150m upwind of me, not even an apology . Other than that every one I know is pretty chilled & cool.

No kite rage in WA?
Pulled up to the gate to head to our favourite wave spot to find that some nice fellow/lady/windsurfer had written.."no fag kiters allowed at the Spot" My wife turned to me in silence, then we both answered together "I'm/Your'e not a fag" we both laughed and continued through.

I heard the story behind it once I got there. Apparently...(now that's a dangerous word) It was really busy on the Sunday and a kiter was absolutely killing it, top to bottom turns just ripping it up.

Someone's bottom lip began to sag as a result and out came the rage in the form of a red texta under the cover of secretiveness whilst quicky exiting through the gate before anyone could see.

Some people really need a hug out there. In the words of Fung Karl "where's the love?".

Hey Hurley,

We've all been there mate

I've got 6 kites and still there are times when you cant get out..OR...like yesterday the wind has got lots of holes in it.

Forget the BOM - just check out the actual wind readings to work out IF to go to the beach or not & then forget them when you get to the beach and look at the local conditions.

I was out on my 14m yesterday and was fully depowered - cant say it was much fin as had to be real careful - then dropped down to the 10m which took away the danger factor, but wasnt as much fun as I was usually slightly underpowered.

I haven't seen any yet at all happy to say.

I coulda had a rage at Brownee last friday at WQoodies when he went for a trick just upwind of me, didn't make it and crashed his kite into my lines, but hey, I was having too much fun to get THE RAGE and there was no damage done.

The acts described above sound really petty and stoopid.

Just ride.

Some guy went for a back mobe but dowlooped transitioned after missing the pass and went into some guys lines. Then the guy who got hit wanted to bash the guy that hit him.

and me at two stupid white scottish dogs who always come down the beach. The owner lets them off the leash and they run like 2kms to where we are kiting to chase our kites. They constantly bark at our kites and follow us around the shore line and swim out to us THEY ARE FKN ANNOYING!!!!. PUT THEM ON A LEASH GODDAM YOU OR I WILL TOW YOUR DOGS OUT TO SEA!!!!

and some guy riding upwind of a windsurfer copping some abuse for smiling at him. Friggen windsurfers think they own the place.

Thats enuf rage for now.

Ah Spacemonkey... chill mate... There's a famous black dog that loves to chase and bark at us and windsurfers at Wello... We all just spray the dog and kite away... The dog loves it, the kiters and it's owner don't mind, and it's a good laugh for people watching... It's not aggressive, it's just playing It's a corker of a time for all

Thats sweet towing peoples boards out to sea, its been the dream down here but we are not that mean. Kooks always accidentally "shadow"/cut us off, but we just cut them off in return Fight fire with fire . Another thing which induces anger in some is poleboarders walking back up wind through the shallows, clogging up the zone.

Na generally its pretty chilled, hardly ever any collisions. Although we have had 2 in the last 2 sessions.

Fill us in more about the board towing, it sounds funny.

Was that at that place you took me and Richie to Gav?
A mate of mine was there a few days ago, he was riding a 9M Crossbow, and was having an absolute blast. Conditions were gusty 20 to 30+ knots, he kites for a few hours each days while guys were onIy lasting 15-30 mins on C shaped 8M kites. Locals were telling him he was boosting 50 footers, and he told me he was often looking down, like well down on windsurfers.
Asked if he got any vibe at the beach but he said everyone was chilled, and really cool, everyone wanted to know about the bows and how he got such great service and prices from Kitepower.
Kidding!
Pity some people like to "own" spots.

Steve,
Yep..that's the spot. There are people who think they own things that belong to no-one unfortunately.

It wasn't the guy you are speaking of, I saw him kiting at Pt Moore. I was the guy who only lasted 30min. (hurt my ankle)

The guy ripping was a local guy who doesn't usually go to the spot and has only been kiting a few seasons.

Kitepower? is that a shop? never heard of it.....(smiling) If it has excellent service, I'd like four shots of tequilla delivered....now please.

God Bless

hehehe - simple - hang around the guy / gal who's annoying you, but not too close so that they stop doing tricks, and wait for them to stack it and fall off thier board. Then pick it up while they are body dragging back to it and take it on a trip... preferably dont do it in the surf, unless you are taking thier board back to the baech for them.

Alternatively for a little less agro and a little more fun you can also just swap boards with them for a while...
