Hi lads,

As I saw on the site, forecast for next months seems to be mainly based upon western winds, unfortunately all spots around sydney's airport are noticed to be best in Estern winds. Does any one of thoses spots works with Western winds ? Or did I took my kite licence for nothing ?

bra' stands for maroubra ?

I've heard it's forbidden for us kiters, to go kiting in Bondi being in possessions of any NSWKBA or so tag.
What about coogee beach then ? I've seen someone on his way to go kiting there. But on the NSWKBA map, they says it's forbidden...

I think you mean Laperuse and / or Kurnell, but as we have read too many times before kiting there in winter is for the foolish, the brave, and the experienced only!

May be able to try Palm Beach bayside, never been there myself but it seems like it would work in westerlies.

Palm Beach Pittwater is possible but only in a straight NW wind. Even then it's dangerous at best and downwind you have fences, cars and trees, amongst other obstacles. There have been numerous kiting accidents there, some serious. Not advised. Straight westerlie is not something you should even consider.

Best spot for dead westerlies is either Picnic Point near The Entrance or Squids at Belmont. But be advised both spots also have significant obstacles onshore.

Westerlies around Sydney are inherently unpredictable, gusty and potentially dangerous.

not much ,gusterlies are gusterlies,not for the faint hearted or inexperienced. .Numerous rock groins in gusterlies (generally winds coming across land initially usually from the west in NSW )do increase the danger somewhat at Kurnell I suppose

Come on bennie septic point is ****. You and I both know it. The smell, bull sharks the mad westies that visit every weekend. You don't want to disappoint all the syd siders who come up.
