From your previous postings you are a beginner & therefore your requirements are different from more proficient riders.

I would recommend that you go to spots that are very learner friendly - i.e. flat water, no fast running tides, sideshore winds, very few obstacles in the water (e.g. boats, mooring points, piers, power lines), water that you can stand up in as you will be relaunching lots, lots of room to self launch and land - or bale if it all goes pear shaped.

This probably restricts you to Rye at the moment or Inverloch is you are prepared to go further afield. I live in Melb & used to travel to Inverloch as it was a perfect spot to learn (except in fast running tide) - you can get a long way away from any other kiters or beach users and hone your craft.

There is a camping ground on Andersons Inlet & a kite school should you want a lesson to help you with water starts or progression.

Cheers

Tom

i kite frankston a fair bit, however its terrible when the wind gets up alot as the chop makes it almost impossible to get on the board. if you get a SW the water is semi flat as there is land about 2km upwind, so the waves dont get a chance. this is only flat for about 300-500m out then the land isnt sheltering and the chop begins.

as a beginner (still learning) i find that the trip to Rye in any wind with North is well worth the drive as the flat water makes getting up and going much much easier! then u can worry about what to do once up and moving, instead of face planting after 5m as u hit a wave or somthin like at FRA.

if you wanna stick to the frankston area, up along the long beach is good too, but mind the chop.

good luck with it, and if you see a peter lynn kite and some hopelessly skilled kiter, thats me

when will i next be there? umm when this wind swings as this off shore crap is driving me mad! i dont usually allocate time to kite, just go when the wind is good and the beach isnt packed.

[email protected] drop me a line if you are planning a sesh, if it looks good i'll rock up.
