Hi Darc
I kite all the time on the east coast of tasmania around Coles Bay and Bicheno. The seabreezes here are a lot more consistent you can get in the water a lot. Some weeks I kite 4-5 days straigh, with good surf and no one else out . I think the guys in Lonnie mainly kite at greens beach and west head, Al at Planet Surf could give you the heads up or if you look on the other thread "kite sizes in tassie" there are some other guys to check with. Give me a call if you are coming east I own the bakery in Bicheno, I will show you around. Regards Ben
It would be good to see some more kiters in tassie!

Strange someone should be asking about that....
Just a few hours ago, through the window next to seat 1A on VB flight 699 out of Hobart, I saw this interesting place.

It looks like some sort of wind farm (therefore the area likely has strong reliable wind) with a handful of sandy bays that face at a few different angles. I grabbed the camera becasue I thought it looked like it had kiting potential, even though I couldn't see much in the way of road access.

I don't know where it is exacely, other than it's on the North coast of Tasmania somewhere along the line from Hobart to Adelaide.

The only kite I saw while I was there was an orange one in the distance (I was on solid ground this time) at Carlton Beach, near where I was staying in Dodges Ferry, but (s)he had gone by the time I got down there.

That would be woolnorth wind farm near cape grim on the North West Coast. There are excellent spots for kiting near there and lots of wind and surf. Marrawah is to the South, one of the best spots around for kiting in waves, just ask Martin Vari! Stanley along the North coast has amazing flatwater lagoons as well, there are lots of other really good beaches in between.
