Naa rowdy you r wrong,Kitesurfing is 4 surfers an non surfers i got a mate who is not a surfer an he loves it in the waves, yeah sure he may not know how to rip tear an slash etc but he does'nt mind a big boost off the
mobile ramps out there an most of my other mates are all good surfers an we like it cause it is just another dimension of surfing or waves are just another dimension of kiteing depending on which side of the fence u r standing on...

What with you? We have soooo many km of beaches around Australia. What's your problem with clinics ands schools

lol.
I would assume that established kite-schools already teach new riders the basics of kiting in the surf.
Or they should, if they are totally professional ?

They would advise newbies to stay off the main peak and keep downwind of the pack.
They would insist that outbound newbies give right of way to waveriders....
either by snapping chicken-gybes and heading back to shore to kill time;
or by bearing-off super hard downwind and staying wide.
They would explain the drop-in rule for inbound riding.
These are the fundamentals for newbie wavekiters.

Bruce, you asked for a curriculum for your kite clinic, here's my contribution.
But isn't a kite clinic for wavekiting with a pro-rider as a drawcard....
really just a euphemism for sales opportunity.
Sell some kites and shooters to some surf newbies.
You're pimping on the forum, right ?
You and Ben.
But that's cool, everybody does it.

And Silviu,
The problem with wavekiting (and surfing) is that there aren't enough waves for the growing crowds.
Any more than 6 kiters to a peak and it's a cluster-f.u.c.k.
If you don't believe me,
ask the wavesailing poleys if they want anymore strings in the zone.
Ask the regular wavekiters if they need anymore 'friends' at their local break.
lol.

Waveslave you are anally retentive - you must keep it all to yourself, don't share ok...
There are plenty of waves and plenty of peaks to ride in Aus. What's more is we all have a RIGHT to access them just like you.
I have a question for you... why are you so negative?

Some of these folks need to learn to share their very own little corner of the sandbox...

Anybody who wants to learn correctly is better than someone flailing around as a hazard to themselves or others. If you learnt by yourself, onya, give yourself a huge pat on the back (oh you already did). You obviously have more time (and less life outside kiting) than most others I would say.

Grow up and drop the redkneck localism.

You do not have a mortgage or any kind of moral right just because you got there 1st. If you actually believe that, then you won't mind when a few indigenous folk rock up and tell you to knob off before you cop a spear in the thigh!

Maybe a bigger lunchbox is required to fit some legends into?

Selecting board size
Dealing with rips, can they work to your advantage?
Understanding options at critical moments - riding over the lip of a large (overhead) wave to get 'out the back' and preventing loft or kite dumping
Reading the ocean, knowing the set timing, wave size and frequency
Kite position when bottom turning and re-entry
Using leashes in the surf when there are surfers in the water
Basic manouvres
