Passed the Xray & metal detectors @ Sydney airport yesterday - no problem - only to be drawn aside by the Hulk in uniform who asked me to 'please explain' the significance of the 'fireaway' logo on my T as he proceeded to swipe all my handles & pockets & zippers with fly-paper which, apparently, picks up even the minutest traces of any explosive materials
I was way too intimidated to make jokes about cults or whatever so he is now full bottle on what makes a great kitesurfing flick
50 ft's "pull the trigger" is probably another no-go as travel apparel

yeah i had to take out some gear from my board bag cuz of excess weight, so i took out 2 kitebars and had them in small bag on the side of my hand luggage.
When i went through security they where like why are you carrying these? So i explained they where for kites and i had excess weight and had to take something out and the bars where all i could take out.
Then i showed them my AKSA card. They scanned the bars six times and were really suss but eventually let me through 1 minute before my flight left. Thank god i wasn't wearing my 'pull the trigger shirt'

Yep...

and conversations like:

"Went to the BOM site and we're set for a blast, should be fully lit by 4..."

are right up there with the ol' nugget:

"Hi Jack!"

I'll never refer to Slingys as Bomb Proof again.
