Hey Guys

i'm sure there will be a fair bit of opinion on this topic, i'm using 25m lines on a best nemesis and starting to kite waves more often. i need to buy a new set of lines and was thinking of dropping the length down from 25m.

what are the advantages/disadvantages?

cheers

The advantage of search function on Seabreeze is that the same topic does not have to be answered repeatedly year after year.

If all users used the search function there would be no more posts as the same topics get tosed around every year

Check on what your kite was designed for eg I have seen 17m lines for some kites my kite was been designed for 20m lines

Unfortunately the search function on SB is as good as t!ts on a bull.

I have searched for specific threads that i know were less than a couple of months old and after many subject/content attempts yielded zero.

Go outside SB to google and you may find posts older than a couple of months.
Google oogle and there it is. SB's search needs to be vastly improved before bagging anyone.

Yeh Im not a hardcore wave dude but...
Shorter than 20m is average. The kite will hit the water more than it flies.
Shorter than 20m you wont clear big white water on your tack out.
30m lines dont work either.
I find 23m the go for wave kites ie - 5,7,8,9m kites
I find 25m the go for larger kites and freeriding.
Chasing waves in wind less than 20 knots is asking for trouble when the waves are grinding.

Hope this helps.

22m to 23m are becoming standard. no matter if wave or freeriding.
17m ot 18m makes quite a difference as mentioned above. faster and less range.
but nice for a 7er :)
