I am just after a few opinions on which style of litewind board to buy.
(a) SS glide 149x46 no shape at all
(b) LF WLF 145x45 more performance shape.. most brands have a board this style.
(c) Cab prodigy 158x41 a lot longer but thinner.
(d) one of the mutant style boards ie:SS fuse..
Now i weigh in at a bit over 100kegs and i am looking for something for those 10-15kt days especially this time of year with those westerly's on the east coast...
I just want to know whats going to be the most fun to ride with the absolute best lite wind performance.. Thanks

I can second the Glide. Awesome light wind weapon.

With the 13 Rev, 10-15 knts is perfect for the glide. For your weight, you should be able to stay upwind in 8-9knts

Milko, got to say the new Underground has to be an option on your list.
They make two lightwind boards this year, for the smaller guys there is the 1.38x44 and for larger guys and even lower winds for the lighter guys there is the 1.44 x 46
There is also a 1.48x43 which is more designed for schools and begginers.

The underground was one of my favourites but being my second board i dont really want the big price tag.. all the other boards around are second hand or runouts.. but steve if you can do me some mates rates ( i met you once up at stockton beach.. i had the silver hilux and the turbo2.. that makes us mates) i will see if i can afford it .. if you could email me a price on [email protected] or i will give you a call some time.. hay Rowdster, how they hangin,no its not a big board but a goody.....not pimpin it but it really does hold its own...yes i got one....simple, well made for all general conditions....I'm only 68 kilo's and cant afford a 2 or 3 kite quiver...so I compromise and ride a twinny that is mid range in size and covers a lot of ground,er water...p.s hope ya gettin good conditions down your end of the coast ,Roo...its rainin cats n dogs in Noosa.(changed me avatar ta show yas the M8)

Hey mate, yeh its raining and pretty depressing down here. I hope we get some wind soon........yeh right. I was just saying that i ride that big of a board because i think he is looking for something a bit bigger than what you said because he is a big guy and needs it for light wind. Your board sounds great for allround conditions though.

yeer Rowdy,I reckon you are similar body mass to me.....we are lucky to fit into an 'allround' profile for kiteing....I'm figureing to get a 13m bandit for next summer that goes with our local conditions here on the sunnycoast,12-22 knots usual...my rebel 10m has a wide wind range but is a pain to relaunch under 15 knots....would love to have 3 slingy's for all conditions in a perfect world but I have to choose between a North Evo 12m and a Bandit 13m as an all rounder....I think the Bandit wins even though it is a couple of hunge dearer....whada ya reckon?

Well to tell you the truth i haven't tried ethier, but if it were me i think i would go for the bandit as i have never liked anything north has made really except in the early days. Im pretty sure the bandit has a good range as well, not to mention if its anything like last summer you will need that extra metre most days. Lets hope not though.

p.s. Belive it or not i actually weigh 80 kilos...... i know its hard to belive.

Hey Milko,

Have a look at the Airush Protoy Exile-L. It rides really well, is light and fun and gets going in next to nothing. At 135 x 47 or 135 x 44 for the Exile-S.

They were originally designed as a pro rider comp board to ride in light wind competition. They enable you to stay upwind inside the judging area, freestyle well due to short length and are super light weight for throwing around in the air.

They handle chop well with the double concave and are extremely hard to buy second hand as very few come up for sale despite many dozens being sold every year.

kiteboardingschool.com.au/index.php?page=shop.product_details&flypage=shop.flypage&product_id=37&category_id=15&manufacturer_id=0&option=com_virtuemart&Itemid=84

We also have a second hand one for sale on our specials page.

Good winds,
