it will be fine just make sure you get the right lessons and plenty of time on a trainer b4 hand. once your up and going you will have one if not the best kites available

the rev is not slingshots entry level kite. Its fast, its powerful and doesnt have the best depower (not '100%').

I would go a more milder SLE like an airush flow, best waroo, cabrinha switchblade.......

I do I do I do - actually I have 2 of them now and love em both
See 'gear reviews' for a rundown of the 13M. I'll add a review of my new 9M some day soon.
But for a beginner I would still recommend the Turbo Diesel. I had an 06 Turbo for 2 seasons; bewdiful; it was just so sooo soooo easy to fly. A real cruisy, hassle free, 'safe' kite. Beach talk is that the 08 Turbos are even better - dunno 1st hand but they sure look better

Oh - BTW my 06 Turbo just happens to be for sale - no damage, no repairs, see the buy & sell.

Yeah my 2 cents is to start with the Turbo Diesel. I love my Rev, but it is not as forgiving as the TD. It turns so fast it could take a learner by surprise.

Like puppet, I've been riding Turbo Diesels for a couple of years now and they're a great kite. I have a 13m Rev but I still use my 14m TD for light wind and a 10 TD for when it picks up a bit. I don't plan on replacing them for another year or two.

Not too sure if learning on a fast kite is always a bad thing. It really depends on the individual I think. We have had students whos first kite was a F-One Impact, which was a sickly fast kite.
The depower is still excellent and the Rev is a no brainer to relaunch.
The short of it is that the REV is twice as good as the TD and unless your a slow or reluctant learner will be a much better choice.
