For the european riders its a hotspot. in each mag theres at least one article. has to be really good with waves and flatwater. there are some kitecenters with good material such as north, naish, cabrinha.
as i've heard theres wind every day.

so get it a go

I've kited at Safaga in the red sea during late Sept and the wind was nuking for the first week and a half, using a 8m the whole time and 1 day we didn't go out because it was too windy. For the the last week I was using my 14 and there was only one day where I would have needed a bigger kite. But it pays to check the wind stats for the time of year you will be going. I know the windy season for Safaga is their summer.
Another thing I have found on the red sea and middle east in general, is the wind can be blowing 35 knots but it feels about as strong as a 25 knot wind in WA. Must have something to do with the air density.
PS I'm 80 kg.

there is not so many Kite spots in Dahab, as It is more of a windsurfing Mecca, I think some places are banned actually, Kitesurfer/Windsurfer conflict, But there are alot of great places to kite in Egypt, the cleanest wind is in Ras Sudr, but there aint much going on there entertainment wise, very isolated. Hurghada is touristic big time and between there and El gouna are alot of Kite schools but honestly its super gusty in Hurghada, Elgouna is better but then you have the tides so cant kite all the time. Safaga is Great! and depending who you go with they will take you out to the spot each day by boat, nice flat water locations, still can be gusty when wind is nuking but much less than in Hurghada.
I was there from May till September, always on small kites, some days cant kite cos too strong and im too light, but there are days when you might use a bigger kite, not so many, hope is some help
