Hey guys - i have 2 questions, sorta relevant to the post so far:
1) How the fark do people know what a bird thinks a kite looks like??
Did they strap a budgie into a sensory helmet and fly kites over his head to monitor the reactions? Birds of prey do not look like kites - unless you're talking about the star trek kind - and then kites do kinda look like birds of prey from the side..
2) And more seriously: If at peli point you are heading out to the middle of the river (planing on ur board - not walking) and you want to turn and come back in - what do you do if there is a guy behind you caining along in your wake? If you turn, its very likely that the kites will come into contact. Can someone please clear this one up for me ?
Do you keep going till he turns first? or
Turn as he shouldnt be so close? or
what ?
And finally - if you see someone who looks like they are just standing in the water with the kite above their head - what ever you do - go behind them.

It seems like common sense now:
At the time i thought my kite - low in the sky - would cross this persons lines if i went behind him - so i went quite a far way down in front (<20m though

). I think he waited for me to be right down wind of him to then dive his kite at me as fast as he could - possibly by accidient - but i reckon he had it in for people that could edge.
Now i know i shoulda bought my kite up to 12 o'clock and edge hard behind him - stopping if necessary. lucky theres a next time.
Anyways if someone could answer 2) for me i'd be grateful.
Ta.
