GDay,

Im a windsurfer who has just converted to kitesurfer. Done about 4 hours of lessons and only been on a bigish twin tip once but got going ok. Keen to get some gear now and just practice.

Would a mutant be a good way to go or much more difficult to ride? I like the idea of more pop and better upwind riding and wave performance. Do they go ok in reverse or would i have to learn to gybe it? Initially i dont want ot have to worry about gybing, seems harder than a windsurfer because of such little buoyancy?
All in all, Mutant or twin tip.
Will mainly be kiting in less than 15 knots because looking at a 16m or probably an 18m!! In Dubai for 2 months and very light winds

Cheers

When are you going to Dubai? as you should get your gear there. With the exchange rate and light wind conditions better off talking to the local crew there, but your're correct about the light winds.

You can get your gear at Alboom Marine, mainly North Kites there.

Thomo's right, with the dollar being so strong at the moment buy your stuff overseas, some great deals to be had...

I am in dubai at the moment have been for one month and working for another two months and this is where i have done my lessons. The cheap gear was also a motive to buy.

But should I go a mutant or a twin tip.
