My dads lookin at a new kite. He weighs 90kg, and the wind that we will most likely be kiting in is bout 10 to 15 knots. He wants something with a really easy re-launch, and something that is stable in the air. Also he is only at the beginner stage.

Would a 16m Cabrinha SBII do the trick for him?

any 14mtr to 16mtr bow kite will do the trick.....
plus with a big wide board...

but you,ll need atleast 12 to 15 knts to have any fun n learn somethin.. 10knts is way to low for us fat basstards

cheers

hi guys, not looking to step on any brand however since skiddz's dad looking for a cab sb2 might as well try the cab contra 16 built for the big guys. i use a 14 and as a self-taught guy alternative to windsurfing it pulls like a bulldozer and rock steady too in freaky winds..however, your dad might need a real big directional board to start with...cheers

contra came to my mind.

but your low speed NT winds are reasonably steady so a large c kite would be o.k. too.
I weigh 90kg and learned on a 14m c in Darwin, but used a 17m C most days.
go meet the locals (they're friendly especially if you bring beer....heiniken if i remember rightly)
he may get a go on someone else's to try.
or if you're not in a hurry there's geoff at funsupply.
