Yer Dan, I was out riding all the time, so never got interviewed, Quinny sent most of his time on the beach looking the part! LOL,
I hope your liking the HELIX, I am sure you are!

JB,
I'm trying to decide if the Helix or the Cult is right for me. Would you say the Cult would be better for load & pop style tricks because of its lower aspect? Also, how much worse is the hang time on the cult compared to the Helix? How does the turning compare between the two kites?
Thanks.

Rhymejones,
Both these kites rock! I have done numerous analysis on different threads between the SIGMA kites, check the gear reviews for these. As you have asked about AR's I will tech out! These don't really mean all that much, but here we go....
I will use all kites in 12m.
HELIX 12m
PROJECTED AREA: 8.6sqm
ASPECT RATIO: 4.9
ARC FLATNESS (Height/Width): 0.48
# of STRUTS: 7
CULT 12m
PROJECTED AREA: 8.6sqm
ASPECT RATIO: 4.7
ARC FLATNESS (Height/Width): 0.52
# of STRUTS: 5
ALLIANCE 12m
PROJECTED AREA: 8.1sqm
ASPECT RATIO: 5
ARC FLATNESS (Height/Width): 0.51
# of STRUTS: 7
CODE 12m
PROJECTED AREA: 8.7sqm
ASPECT RATIO: 4.55
ARC FLATNESS (Height/Width): 0.55
# of STRUTS: 5
TORCH 12m
PROJECTED AREA: 7.4sqm
ASPECT RATIO: 5
ARC FLATNESS (Height/Width): 0.65
# of Struts: 5
Now none of this proves anything! I prefer the Cult for the waves because it's lighter, I would probably use the HELIX for Freestyle and boosting more, as it can handle being ridden overpowered by bigger guys better. Both kites have excellent pop and boost. You may get a tiny bit more hang from the HELIX. But it's pretty close.
All the SIGMA kites excell in every factor! If you love the HELIX, you will love the CULT and the CODE also, it will depend on $$ and what extra features you want to get. The ALLIANCE it the SIGMA for the hard core freestyle rider.
I hope this helps you, alternatively, visit your dealer and try their demo kites! Cult's arrive today! so those stores that were quick enough to order early will be getting their kites soon, second shipment should be in about 2-3 weeks.

JB

JB,
Thanks for the info. I think I read most of your reviews out there before posting - I just didn't see anything that compared the two kites for freestyle type tricks. I was kinda thinking that maybe it would be like the boxer vs shockwave thing where the boxer was a bit better for wake style tricks, but the shockwave had way more boost.
Thanks.

Rhymejones,
There is no longer a boost, or a wake, or a wave kite. It is hard to grasp, but all the SIGMA kites excell in every catagory. There are slight features in each kite which make one more suitable to the consumer than the other. Both the CULT and the HELIX (and the code for that matter) would be equally as suitable for freestlye. By the Tech book the HELIX is supposed to turn faster, and boost higher, I personally didn't feel a massive diffrence between the 3! You notice the weight and extra stability way before you notice and changes in performance.
The SIGMA series has made kite choice easier than ever, sellect a kite with the features you want, they all rock!

JB
