It's fine as is riding the beach 1 wall, all 3 of the beaches are rideable though..
Yeah all three beaches are "rideable" but on a NW beach 1 and 2 are full EXPERT ONLY! and beach 3 is just choppy and ****.
Kiting the normal offshore beach at woodys (beach 3) isn't too bad because if something goes wrong its only a matter of time till you get washed back onto the beach down wind.
But in a NWer when it goes wrong you will be blown out to garden island, down to Rockingham, or more likely onto the big sea wall (with a pulverizing wash) down at the shipyards.
and just for kicks throw in the unpredictable winds we get here in winter.
So if you are planning on heading out at woodys this winter in any of the northerly winds make sure you KNOW how to do a self rescue and if it comes to it you are prepared to pull the pin and loose all of your gear. oh and don't kite alone there!
jeeze i must be getting old or something i'm starting to sound like my mum
