I will be in port douglas from sunday for 6 days.
I want to kite the most and do a couple of reef snorkel trips.
therefore - sensible to kite on windy days snorkel on calm ones...
how can I pick them?
cairns forecasts - far north queensland.
also are there many kiters there or do I need to take a pump?
thanks
!

Hey Hawaii,

If you're staying in Port Douglas, catch up with Brett from Windswell. Bretto can organise you trips to the reefs and kiting at the low isles etc.

Have fun

I was over there recently but didn't have much luck with wind, when its on though there there is usually a few crew (including Bretto) at 4 mile, so I'd imagine borrowing a pump shouldn't be a problem.

There is no accurate graph for Pt Douglas but the locals seemed to use a combination of Cairns and Low Isles graphs to determine it because it is usually somewhere in between the two.
As KH said Brett can organise charters etc, we went on one to try and get some wind as we were getting none in PD, but even on the reef we did more snorkelling than kiting.

I am here now and unfortunately the wind has gone.
We had some good days last week but this week looks bare. You never know though, it can change.

There's always Archer Point just a little further north where it CRANKS WINDY!

Loved Cooktown and Archer Point!
