I surfed LAkeys about 8 years or so ago, its such a top break but gets crowded as hell.
There are a few more breaks on the Bali side of the island which are perfect for surfing, kiting not so sure but would be worth a look and are far less crowded as they are difficult to get to.
Some of the other islands east of there are just perfect. A break called T-land springs to mind. It was blowing its arse off every arvo when i was there and perfect glassy conditions in the morning. This left is as good as, if not better than G-land, just a hundred times more difficult to access.
On my last indo trip it was thge first place i arrived at, took me three days to get there flight to Bali, flight to Kupang, boat to the island, then the bus to the spot. On my third surf or so, snapped my 6'10" the board i had especially made for the trip.

.Spent the next two months with my 6'2" and a real crappy 7'0"...either totally under gunned or riding a piece of **** that wouldnt turn properly.
