generally find seabreeze is spot on for wind predictions

but this thurs

BOM Forecast NW/SW winds 20/25 knots reaching S/SW 20/30 knots by the afternoon

compare to seabreeze graph

was planning surf trip to rotto based on seabreeze - dont think so

I would not do so either, because I just reverse-engineered the Seabreeze algorithm for weather forecasting.
It goes like (excuse the bad German-English translation): If the cock crows on the dung, the weather is gonna change, or it is gonna stay like it is.

Just remember, Thursday hasn't happened yet, so nobody is "right" until it happens...

If you click the 7 day forecast, it takes you through to the syntopics page where you'll see a mild frontal may develop, depending on other factors... currently the forecast gradient is still pretty large:

Winter is all about reading synoptics as well. That way you understand the reasoning "why" a forecast is what it is .. the weather patterns change a heck of a lot faster in winter, than in summer.

Mmmmm that would make it hard to decide what to do.
I think it's the time of the year when the dart board and blindfold come out.

Seriously though things change that quickly at this time of year that it is hard to predict a couple of days out.
My motto is you've gotta be in it to win it, yeah it it might turn ugly but then again.............

I know kiting is a bit tricky this time of year but no-one wants to hear about your sex-life Tighty!

I had stopped even checking the graphs until on Sat I chanced onto Sunday's graphs. Thought it too good to be true but got amongst it and it was spot on to the SB charts. Great sesh. So was Loz in on the blindfold game with Tighty or what?? Double

Pure luck of the draw in the in-between' times of Autumn/Spring. If you have the time to spare go check the coast (at the coast) if not follow the charts but be prepared for disapointment.

Hangin for a nice 20-30kt frontal system.

my point was gulf betwen 20/30 kn ssw or light easterlie no wind

i hope seabreeze is correct

Ok is there any whiz out there who can make a smart statement about Melbourne's weather tomorrow?
From 4 knots (windfinder) to 15-25 knots (BOM) it seems all possible..
