No not the little lagoon apparently its gusty as all hell.
The stone fish are in the deep apparently, and there arent many of them out there apparently!!
If you want adventure head to the big lagoon in the 4*4 what a place butter flat water no-one around totally awesome. Watch out for sharks, turtles birds, dugongs etc etc etc....
Also do a downwinder we went from eagle bluff back to denham, about 25-30kms, awesome, you really get to see the wildlife on something like that!

G'day Craig,
I have kited little lagoon. It is really gusty and you might find a nice lull almost in the middle of the lagoon as the wind swirls in over the hills a bit. I wore booties up there just to be sure.

I wouldn't risk the Little Lagoon, except for photo shoots....plenty, plenty cooler places to fly about up there. Getting a boat would be tops and do get a good map. Hi risk area, be safe.

Fishing is good in Jan.

Brutal climate though, 40 degrees and 20-30 knots, 24/7

Plan to check out this place in Jan., you game Lurch?

Worry about the turtles and the rays before the sharks. Wear booties for the razor shell and try to avoid standing or stacking in the weedy patches.
Try nanga on your way in to Denham if there is no East in the wind...Its further in the bay so there is less fetch.
Most importantly dont kite too close to the beach in Denham as the older town folk get scared and you might just ruin the place for future kiters (there has been some mishaps there before)
Catch Lurch at monkey mia hes the only local kiter.

Kited at Denham on the 27th and 28th and it was unreal. After 3 years of kiting in Sydney, I was finally understanding what kiting heaven could be. There is a reason the area has a wind farm and is known as having the most persistant wind is WA. I mean it was blowing 15knots at 6AM when I got up to use the loo at the caravan park. I was lucky to be sleeping in a campervan as in a tent you would never get any sleep as the wind blows all night.
I did not see any sharks but alot of different types of rays. Down at eaglebluff I did count 5 reefsharks in the shallows less then 70 to 80 meters off shore. There were all less then 2 metres long and ones I have seen diving usually run away from you as soon as you get near them. I would suggest staying in Monkey Mia as it is more sheltered from the wind so you can enjoy the evening, and just drive the half hour over to Denham for kiting.
My 2 cents.

Ah yes, back in the the Bay after tackling the crowds at Lano and learning how to kite waves, ahhh the joy. As you have heard Little Lagoon is gusty as hell because it has a bit of land to get over. Don't worry too much about the stoneys just stay deep and dont fall off. PR's on the moneyt, go to Big Lagoon to the campsite, once you get there it speaks for itself. Alternately I'll be back on the beach so if anyones still around I'll catch up withs ya's.
Bloody struggling at work after a few weeks off but.....................

Aloha Gruezi
Apparently the wind up here over those 2 days of new years got up to 45 ++ kts. the locals were calling it the strongest winds since the last cyclone.
Fair bit of west in the wind last couple of days with that low should all be back on in the next couple, lookin' forward to seeing you guys.
Any word on PR's mate, I haven't seen him.

Hey there Lurch...good to see you the other day. Wife all excited about extreme golf.

I really like high winds as they make the water flat[:D. Had a nice ride in 30-35 at Woodies recently in 7m....could have used more wind though, so the 7m xbow looks perfect for 30-50

Perhaps the Castle in summer is too windy for most as the median kite is prob. 10m........?naw its the bities
