i pump it up to 10psi as specified, but looses a bit of air throughout my session, (the strut doesnt go completely limp, just isnt as rigid as when i pumped it up)

Exactly as the guys have said. Its not difficult. Inflate it and dunk it in your bath to locate. A bit of talcum powder when re-installing it to make life easier and voila! Or, pay the $10 bucks.

what is this kite shop business.
Is it that totally uselessness is the way the world is going??
What happens when you get a leak in Gnaraloo or worse Lakey Peak.

Do This

Simply remove the bladder.

inflate it to full but don't overstretch

immerse in water bath or swimming pool

ring the bubbling area with an indelible pen

dry and apply self adhesive patch [usually supplied with your kite]

replace the bladder in the strut carefully after coating with talc [for slippiness] and make absoluetly sure it occupies the strut exactly [ie no dead areas exist] because if the bladder has folded over as it will rupture when inflated [i did it first time], Best advice is to fold the front of the strut into iteself like a sock before pulling the strut back throught with a string attached to the inflation valve.

The only problem is if it is leaking at a joint seal or corner then a heat sealer is usually required [SOS have one]

There....... fixed.

You saved 10 bucks but you owe me a beer mate

I would leave it if it is as slight as you suggest and only the middle strut. If your having problems then fix it.

You could try this stuff:

I have found it works well around valves on Slingshot Bladders. Sticks that well I hope to never need to get the valve to part company with the bladder as it would destroy the bladder doing so. I have tried push bike tyre repair glue for the same repair but it didn't last. Good luck.

The stuff Nuker recommended does work, its a bit of a pain though cos it takes 6-8 hrs to dry.

Something simpler and even better, Tear Aid, just cut a circle and pop it over the valve, covering all the wat round the valve by at least 2 cm.
