am off on holidays and never been there..looked at kite spots and seems ok but if any one has first hand experience..
more info would be great..

and how did you go with kites on singapore..excess baggage...

9th june ....man will it be cold in perth then...but in sri lanka!!!!!!!!

also anyone have travel bag want to sell...lend/hire for month.no wheels..lighter..more stuff i can carry..

also after lonely planet...thanks

for lonely planet books, i just went to my library and reserved all copies of Indonesia. got it in and now im going to take them over to indo for two months. not looking forward to the late fees though.

Probably best off checking kitebeaches.com first. Although not that much info actually, so maybe do a search on this forum or kiteforum.com

Oct~April off-shore on the west coast (NE monsoon)
June~Sept off-shore on the east coast (SW monsoon)

So, you are looking for a trip down the coast to probably Hikkaduwa or just near the airport at Negombo.

I've been there surfing 9 times and it was only on my last trip a couple of years ago I checked-out kiting potential ... not many kiters there at all ... Aragum Bay on the east coast Oct-Sept looks to have potential.

In Lanka, when it's on-shore, it's not very pleasant with lots of rain squalls usually and 'dirty' water ... quite choppy as well ...

'Mambo' a local guy, who has it all covered on the surfing scene down at Hikkaduwa, would be a good one to ask
