I own a 2009 rev 11mtr but find it to be very twitchy in gusty conditions, is there any similar size kites 11, 10 or 9 that fly stable & smooth in strong & gusty winds ? thanks.

yep 10m weather isn't strong wind. Unless of course your trying to fly that 10m fully depowered in 26+ knots. Then you need a smaller kite.

Almost any 2012/13/14 model kite from the major brands, in their allround/freeride model categories. Brands I sell, Ozone Catalyst 10M Cabrinha Switchblade or Vector 10M, Crazy Fly Sculp 11M, Slingshot RPM 10M, Core XR3 10M, Best TS 10M, come and demo and see what you like. All the above will fly and handle better than that old Rev.

If stabilitys what your after the catalyst is hard to beat.- very user friendly but not a kite that would be boring when you improve

F-One Bandit 7 from 8m - 9m - 10m are all very stable and forgiving kites in gusty conditions. They are very responsive so need only slight input from the bar. Not for the heavy handed rider or beginner. I rode the 7m in mega-gusty crazy storm front winds at Merimbula this year (must have been 40knots plus, gusts higher, lulls under 30. It handled it quite well and surprisingly I did not get punished. I like to describe the bandits as the merc or bmw of kites??? they just work better and make life easier than some other branded kites I could but won't name.

From Catalyst to Vegas??? WTF
Just Shows-to-Go how much value there is in punters opinions on the forum.
Everyone reckons the kite they chose is the best one out there.
BUT thats simply because the kite they bought has taught them how it flies best. And if everyone was honest ALL the major brands are doing a great job
If you want stable & smooth in gusty winds then ...
1) you are asking a lot of any kite
2) stick with the latest variations of the Delta kites - they are the user friendly models AND every brand makes one.

Coping with gusts is 50% kite choice - 50% kite skill.

For my (dealer biased) opinion try the Ocean Rodeo Prodigy.
Despite any bias I sell these suckers cos I happened to find them the pick of the bunch from trying a 2nd hand trade-in.
Check the Ocean Rodeo website & read up on the Venturi System & the Forward Swept Wingtips (FST)
Its all 'technologically' sound AND it works.

But I stated Dice and I fly ozones!... damn it was a smooth kite when I demo'ed it.

Anyway.

I recon its 75% rider skill and 25% kite!!!

+1 for the OR Prodigy
Love this kite, very simple straight forward design and as puppet says most companies have a similar kite in there line up, in my opinion it is very similar to the Airush Lithium.
The Prodigy does what Ocean Rodeo claim but it???s not over hyped, just ordered a new 7m. Also owned the 10m Razor for the past year and honestly find it one of the smoothest kites I have flown this is probably due to the Venturi system I guess, I???m only using the kites in the waves so can???t comment on how the Razor goes with freestyle stuff but pretty sure it would be fine. Again the Razor does what OR claim and I believe there design tweaks like the Venturi system and FST wing tips do make a difference. The Bar does have a lot of throw so you can really dump the power of the kite when you need to this also helps with giving both kites a decent wind range.
