Anyone know of a good sunscreen that doesn’t hurt your eyes?

I have the cancer foundation pump pack 30+ but, My eyes I can't feel my eyes was the words I was replacing with woohoo in the waves this weekend.

zinc is the answer you're looking for, just keep a roll of dunny paper handy for clean up after a session, or you'll end up with zinc on your towel and your clothes and your car and your pets and your bed and your missus.

but thing is with sunscreen, most people slap it on just before they head out.
you really need to apply it twenty mins or so before you head out.

but zinc really is the best stuff for you face.... just be really well hydrated as zinc tends to really dehydrate you.

Ella Bache make a sunscreen for faces. Expensive, works for hours and won't sting the eyes once your face gets wet unlike most others. I use it all the time.

There are the new(?) alchohol based suncreens - I got some from Coles, goes under the name of a "Gel".

Compared to the normal suncreen for your face, it's awesome .. because the applicant is some kind of evaporating stuff (maybe the alcohol?) it doesn't run & drip in your eyes when it gets wet.

Zinc - I agree, great stuff, and a great tip I got from this forum was to use "wet ones", those wet towlet things to remove the zinc .. comes off in a single swipe!

I tried Zinc a few times but I forgot it was there wiped my face and smeared it all over my bar.

I like the sound of the Coles brand.

If you can get hold of some, I'd recommend Aloe Gator 40+ gel - my brother brought some over from the US. Excellent stuff, doesn't run into the eyes and allegedly stays on for 8hours, although I'm yet to put that to the test and get an 8hour kiting session in

I use the "Invisible zinc" on my face, its like really fine particles of zinc cream. Doesn't wipe off onto your stuff and will stay on your face for days if you don't clean it off! I always apply it before I pack the car to go kiting and don't have problems with it getting in my eyes. Its pretty pricey, but plastic surgery for a melanoma on your face is too!

I had the same problem and someone on here suggested Banana boat (Black tube). Works well and doesn’t sting my eyes.

I use the Marine Blue sunsticks. They are like lip ones only wider (and non whitening). Saw some Active Gel stuff from the cancer foundation. May be worth checking out. Zinc's too messy and not a good look.

What, are we doing this to look good or to have fun and be safe. I really don't care if it looks good or not, my kiting certainly does not look good yet so what do I care.
