go to crime converters or your local surf shop. either one will usually have a couple of cheap old dingers, perfect for kiting
I Reckon you are better off, (if you can afford it) go for a specific kite/surfboard.
Keep it small-er, 5' 2 to 5' 10" and it's easy to handle till you get sorted.
Old surfboards,
while they get you going on the cheap,
don't do it as well.
