When you took/take on the first wave that is bigger then you thought
("UH OH")! its getting to steep the board loosing its tracking and you feel that edge slipping.

You turn and run straight down the face, you lean way back on your now flat board your going.

(like a ball bearing out of a slingshot arh hum or a arrow out of a crossbow but back then it was a 5 line rhino for me).

Screaming down the face the wave rearing up behind you "its gonna eat me"

This huge wall about twice your height, the water sucking up it's super flat and super fast.

Your going faster and the speed is to the point you don't think your board can handle it but its still not enough it's like the water has turned to glue.

Wiggling the kite pulling the bar in like its a lawn mower rope and your trying to start it "start you ****er".

SMASH from as far to the left and the right it's made a trench, you can feel the water spray from the explosion hehe I am safe.

What about you any near heart attacks or full adrenalan hits that come to mind?

definatly easter just gone down in Yallingup. fully powered on the 9m, blasted out over the reef in seconds. knew the waves were pretty big, but they are always much bigger once they are on top of you hey!

on th first run out, popped over a couple of broken waves and headed out the back to scope the area out. saw an insanely big lump of open swell rolling in upwind of me an thought, gee that is pretty fkn big, it will be fun to ride over...then the lip started to pitch

completely in the wrong section, massive close out set (easily double overhead, closer to triple) bearing down on me and 70m to salvation argggh! I honestly thought that was it.

thank god for kiteloops, man do they rip you downwind!!!
