if you eat brekky vegemite style then you can't beat toast. crumpets can be hard to get right too, you need a good toaster and they perform badly when undercooked.

.....good point stamp. but i find it hard to go past a perfect cooked crumpte, with medium/lots of butter, medium amount of evenly spread vegimite.... but.

if u are wanting to put some tasty cheese up on that badboy, i would be more inclined to run with the bread/toast.

oh wait, throw that gear on the muffin and its even better.

sorry... im a muffin man

I have found with my experience that the 08 range of Classic style crumpets to be a bit stale. The quality just isn't there for me, the rectangular shaped ones that can be broken in half perform a lot better. Easier to get an even spread on so you don't accidentally waste some spread on over the edges.

The new range of 08 chesse and bacon muffins really hit the spot. You might be forking a bit extra out and the size just isn't quite the same but you really notice the build quality. Spead some extra crunchy Kraft Peanut Butter on there and you got yourself a decent meal. Gotta make sure you bake it right though.

I don't mind a bit of crumpet, but when it comes to breakfast I prefer toast.

The new 08 Range of crunchy nut (crunchy nut clusters) its so much more irresistibly tasty compared to the 07 range (crunchy nut). Its probably the only reason why i get up in the morning when there's no wind.

Don't just restrict yourself to toast or crumpets, there's lots of good breakfast's out there, demo as many as you can as we all have different tastes, what works for one may not work for someone else. Some are too heavy, some are too light, some are Just Right.
I believe that you can't beat the satisfaction of making your own, instead of just eating the popular brands that everyone is eating. I'll share with you my design which is a bit out there but works for me (and no I'm not pregnant ) I call it Bacon and Banana Pancakes with Make a Secret.
For the base combine 1 cup of milk, 1 egg and 1 cup of flour, mix well until it is a smooth consistant texture (a blender helps). Heat and lightly oil a frypan and tip some of the mixture in and cook until golden brown on both sides. In another pan lightly fry some bacon pieces and when it is nearly done add some slices of ripe banana and stir through until it starts to soften. Place this mixture on top of the base that you made and drizzle some 100% pure Maple Syrup over it. You will get great satisafaction as you "hook in" and see the envy in every one else's eyes....its sweeeet!
P.S. I believe that the bases are now sold in kit form at most leading supermarkets so it wont be long and everyone will be hooking in.

I used to enjoy muesli, because it is a bit different, (it's really popular in Europe), but then I realised I couldn't do all the things other people could do, for instance, it's really hard to spread Vegemite evenly on all the little bits of Muesli. So I succumbed to peer pressure and moved to toast.

I'll slavishly defend toast in the face of obvious criticisms.

I've never looked back. Toast is hard core. Crumpets are for girls.

how much do you weigh? if you weigh under 70kg i wold go a crumpet, if you weigh between 70kg and 99kg i would go the tost because it has more surface area, if you weigh over 100kg go some crumpet a slice of toast and maby even a muffin or 2 that will give you sufficient energy to kite right up till sundown.

well i dunno, I had a bad experience with a piece of crumpet once. It just took off all by itself and was totally uncontrollable. Seemed to have a mind of it's own... stick with the toast...

I had a go of the '08 toast this morning, and although i liked it a lot, i found that with all that peanut butter it was a bit heavy on the arms. Before you all start ragging off the toast, try this simple modification which for me improved things a shiitload.

Grab a butter knife, turn the toast on a 45 degree angle and make an incision from one corner to the other. Seriously, it halves the pressure on your arms and makes the joy last twice as long.

Maybe i should go out tonight and see if i can find an '08 crumpet that's willing to give me a demo...

really the 08 crumpet left me disapointed, the bag was a bit flimsy, didnt have enough space to store other things like helmets and a real leash, the 07 crumpet was way better and on par with toast but this abomination of crumpet 08 has given the upper hand to toast although exciting new developments in crumpet toast and even pancake bread are set to revolutionise the breakfast scene.

Crumpets are dangerous!

My last experience with a crumpet left me with no house and a big legal bill!

My crumpet has a one hole system which does the trick but the down side is when it gets burnt it can turn out really hard to repair.

But with my toast there are no holes so, no need to repair.

I wonder which Alex Sanz prefers?

..... Probably neither as you can't catch bread or crumpet in the wild.
He's more of a stingray for breakfast man. Accompanied by a big cup of 'environmentally friendly fun'
