is it turning your head through the jump or coming of your front foot as you leave the water the key to the foward rotations. (or both) I first tried them and i was doing them and now for some reason they have stopped working and i am getting bashed. aaaaaagh.

Hey Richo,

It's both. You need to stomp on the tail and allow your weight to continue forward. Spring off the tail of the board and tuck your head to look over your back shoulder or under your back armpit (depending upon roll style) and draw your knees up to increase roll rate.

Check the Tips and Tricks thread.

Cheers,

You need a bit of height (more than a backloop) and then throw your leading shoulder around. If you are getting too smashed then try not pulling too hard on your leading hand. Pulling on your leadig hand during the jump - which everyone always tells you to do, means you'll be travelling at riding speed when you land which is no good if you don't have the board under you. But not pulling too hard on that hand you'll still land in the water afterwards but with no speed so you won't get pulled after you land. Et voila! No more backwards dragging!

I just read this and thought...man I am glad i am not an instructor..this makes no sense!

If you pull very hard on the front hand and loop the kite there's a chance your body will follow
