I was thinking of taking a trip down to Inverloch (if we ever get a day with solid wind) sometime before I go back to work, on the 9th of Jan. From what I hear, there's excellent kiting on the flat water in the inlet, and waves outside of it (correct me if I'm wrong).

It's about 2 hours drive (from where I am in St Kilda) so I was wondering if anyone nearby was interested in joining me for the trip.

I don't know when (for obvious reasons), but it won't be on the first of Jan (too hung over) and it won't be on the second (my 40th B'day - although I can think of no better way to spend it, there's the whole 'committments' thing).

Cheers

Andrew

Just be aware that Andersons Inlet gets crowded over the school holiday season & that if there is a high tide limiting beach space, launching your kite may be either not possible or even worse dangerous.

Inverloch is a sweet spot, but probably best left until Feb onwards.

There are locals that kite there, so its not as though you would have to have a travelling partner.

Greetings,Mr Plow's right Andrew.I had lessons there about a month ago on a weekday and we were the only one's about.Went down the other weekend and to many kites and wind direction not so good for learning.Theres a cravan park opposite the launching area and next door to the main camping area. This time of year there would rugrats ect all over the place.
I plan on going down there once the holidays are over with.

Send an email if ya gunna go down,I'm still having lessons, long drawn out saga due to work commitments.

Thanks guys. I might leave it for a few weeks. On the bright side, the waves were getting pretty good at St Kilda yesterday - nothing like a good 25kt southerly to bulk up the chop

Must have been later on at St Kilda? I got down there about 10am and spent the day watching the wind rotate around the full 360 degrees before it finally blew hard North at about 4pm when I gave up in disgust.

Hopefully better today....bl**dy Melbourne ** kiting weather

We just got back from a week solid kiting at Sandy point.

All that horrible flat water, and k's of surf.

It was supposed to be a Kite clinic but all were only interested in coming back for our march week because of the food.

Obviously I have to work harder on the instruction and get my wife to tame down the meals.

Tuesday is looking good for Pt Danger.

Best winds

Plow, are we talking about the same 'yesterday' - it blew pretty much southerly from 10am to midnight. And when I was down there (from about 12) it blew 25 and gusty as fck until about 4 (when I left) when it settled back to about 15 knots. ?

Yeah - my bad - days are blurring into each other - I meant the day before.
