sigh.

I really don't think kitesurfing is for you. You seem like you need someone to hold your hand all the way.

****ING SEARCH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Go down the beach and see what all the good guys are riding, ask them what they think. Search in google, search the forums.

Medium aspect, 04 or newer, not generic brands. North (vegas), Naish (boxer), SS (Diesel), Cabrinha (CO2 or access), Wipika (matrix?), Best(yarga or grunt), rrd (not sure what the medium aspect kite is, type 6 I guess), gaastra (force).

All will work, some have advatages over others. Go have a lesson, see what you struggle with, see what you would like better (eg relaunch), do your research and then go buy one.

True True.

I look at the last posters and questions and it's ALL BOOMAN for the last few days.

Dude Search....Look, Ask questions on the beach in your local area.

Knowledge is GOLD. We're not being harsh just realistic. You can't learn from a forum alone

Also LOOK at the Kitesurfing FAQ's that Laurie has made stick at the top in the General page.

Oh yeah go to Kiteforum.com, ikiteboarding.com (See Kiteboarding 101) AND AND get a lesson.

i dont think youve had a lesson otherwise you would have far more of an idea than you do now.
Get a lesson mate...itll save your bank balance in the long run and youll decrease the chance of taking swimmers and innocent bystanders out with your kite...i dont want the sport banned.
Too many people are taking this sport up without lessons.

In short, don't be a dick, get a lesson.

you're from st kilda yeh? just wander down and have a chat to the guys from st kilda kiteboarding, you should see them near the wall with the orange flag at the main kite beach. anyway, they'll point you in the right direction.

Should have called yourself BOO-RING-MAN. Boring! Zzzzzzzzz
Is this the 3rd or 4th time you've asked the same question?
The first kite you need is a trainer. Get a small foil eg Flexifoil, Ozone maybe enough to throw you around when it's really blowing (3 metre ish) Learn how to fly a kite, do your research in the meantime, then buy your rig.

ask anyone, we cant talk enough about are favorite pastime and helping a newbie is very rewarding....
best ways to get going
get a stunt kite to play around with, give it a PVC bar and then hire a trainer so that on your first lesson the kite control is already established and you can be taught the right way to fly a big kite quicker.

if any one thinks of a better way please tell my as the mistereous MYP PP is based on this.
