Yeah those Naish Fish's look the goods and I think would suit Perth summer conditions....I too am looking to buy something for the summer.
Who is the Naish dealer in Perth/WA? Any idea when the new range (09/10) is due?
I am also really interested in the Choptop as a summer board for Perth. Anyone out there ride one of these or have any comments?
Also will prob wait to check out the new 09/10 choptop. I believe around September may be its release?
Why spend $1000 on a Naish Chinese or Thai made popout with the $ going overseas-when you could get a used board here for $150 or so
OR get a
CUSTOM locally made board for $500-800????
Thanks Matt, I appreciate what you are saying and am a firm believer in supporting the local. I guess this also applies to the local retailers who I would support by purchasing a product from them?
Unfortunately I have'nt seen anything I like for $150. I already have a couple of old surfboards that fit in that category.
The custom is definitely an option to consider. However you dont get to demo before you hand over your money. I believe DaLewy is probably the best choice for a custom kite surfboard in Perth and I've heard mixed reports about the
actual end product some friends have received (dimensions, templates etc specified not being supplied - however written on the board). DaLewy is a great shaper never the less and has some great boards out there. I may well end up with one!
Anyways, with this all said I am still keen to try out (or hear opinions on current model) some new release boards, like the choptop early next season...and take things from there.
